Active Shooter Preparedness at Ä¢¹½´«Ã½

Follow the Run, Hide, Fight protocol:
  • RUN: If it is safe to do so, evacuate the area immediately. Leave belongings behind and encourage others to go with you.
  • HIDE: If evacuation is not possible, find a secure location. Lock and barricade doors, silence your phone, and stay quiet.
  • FIGHT: As a last resort, if your life is in immediate danger, use any means available to defend yourself.

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ will send an emergency alert through Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Alert (text, email, or phone). You may also hear announcements from faculty or staff or receive instructions from campus police or faculty.

  • Move away from the source of danger as quickly as possible.
  • Take cover behind solid objects like walls, vehicles, or large trees.
  • Call 911 when you are safe, providing them with as much information as possible (e.g., location of the shooter, description, weapons, etc.).
  •  Remain where you are until law enforcement has given the all-clear or received an all clear from the RAVE alert.
  • Follow instructions from Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ emergency personnel or campus police.
  • Seek medical attention if needed, and report any injuries or missing persons to Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ staff.
Reunification locations will be established and communicated through Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Alert and official channels. Avoid returning to the scene until it is declared safe.
Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ provides counseling and emotional support services.

  • Sign up for Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Alert to receive emergency notifications.
  • Participate in campus safety trainings and drills when offered.
