Local High School Students Visit Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ to Explore College Opportunities

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ recently welcomed students from Ramona High School and Sherman Indian High School for two engaging campus visits, introducing them to the opportunities and resources available as Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ students.
Ramona High School Dual Enrollment Students
On Dec. 12, 2024, 23 Dual Enrollment students from Ramona High School visited Ä¢¹½´«Ã½
to receive their student ID cards and participate in a campus tour. During their visit,
the students learned about the benefits of being part of the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ community, including
access to academic support, career pathways, and student life activities. The event,
organized in collaboration with Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Unified School District (RUSD), is part
of a series of planned activities to strengthen connections between Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ and local
high schools, continuing into the spring semester.
Sherman Indian High School AVID Students
On December 3, 37 students from Sherman Indian High School’s AVID program explored
Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ during a comprehensive campus visit. The day’s agenda included:
- A welcome session with the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Outreach Department.
- Tours of key areas, including the Nursing and Cybersecurity departments, and a visit to the Outdoor Plant Laboratory and Urban Garden.
- A meeting with the Promise Program team to learn about financial and academic support options.
- Lunch in the campus cafeteria, provided by Ä¢¹½´«Ã½.
The event provided Sherman students, including 11 seniors, a chance to see how Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ could support their academic aspirations and future career goals.
Ä¢¹½´«Ã½â€™s outreach efforts reflect its commitment to building pathways for local students to access higher education and succeed in their educational journeys. These visits offered students a glimpse of college life, sparking excitement and inspiring them to pursue their goals with Ä¢¹½´«Ã½.
