Ģý (Ģý) students had the opportunity to attend the Alliance of Black Women Accountants (ABWA) Fifth Annual Scholarship Luncheon on Saturday, November 1, 2025. A total of twenty-two Ģý students, accompanied by five faculty and staff members, participated in the inspiring event, which spotlighted academic excellence, professional accomplishment, and community impact within the accounting and finance sectors.

The luncheon served as a signature scholarship ceremony recognizing women of color pursuing careers in accounting and finance—from community college students to graduate-level scholars. To date, ABWA has awarded more than $80,000 in scholarships to high-achieving students who exemplify academic dedication, leadership, and a commitment to advancing the accounting profession.

Throughout the event, Ģý students engaged in meaningful networking with industry professionals, including representatives from major banks, accounting firms, and higher education institutions. Attendees also had the opportunity to celebrate this year’s scholarship awardees, whose achievements offered encouragement and inspiration to the next generation of emerging accounting leaders.
