Ģý (Ģý) is pleased to announce the reopening of the Ģý Aquatics Complex (RAC) following the completion of repairs and related improvements that restored the facility for student-athletes and the broader community.

The project was initiated to address damaged underground pipes that required the pool to be temporarily shut down. During the repair process, the entire pool and portions of the surrounding deck area were refurbished, allowing the college to return the facility to service in optimal condition. Much of the cost associated with the work will be reimbursed through insurance proceeds related to the repairs.

Ģý's renovated pool nears completion as the college prepares to resume aquatics programs following extensive repairs and facility improvements.

Beginning June 22, Ģý's swimming and water polo programs will resume training and competition preparation. The reopening also allows community events and activities coordinated in partnership with the City of Ģý to once again be scheduled at the Ģý Aquatics Complex after several months of disruption.

"We are excited to resume aquatics activities in the pool,” said Eric Bishop, Ed.D., President of Ģý, "While these repairs were necessary, they provided us with an opportunity to restore this important facility and ensure that it continues to serve our students and community for years to come. We are grateful for the patience and support shown throughout the process and look forward to seeing the Ģý Aquatics Complex once again filled with activity."

Ģý's aquatics programs have a long tradition of excellence, and the reopening of the facility ensures that student-athletes have access to the resources needed to train and compete at the highest level.

"Our student-athletes and coaches are thrilled to be back in the water," said Jennifer Spalding, Dean of Instruction, Kinesiology and Athletic Director. "The temporary closure required flexibility and patience from everyone involved, and we appreciate the support of our students, employees, and community partners. Having the Ģý Aquatics Complex available again allows us to return to the high-quality experiences our student-athletes and community members have come to expect."
